This is the second time we have stayed in your hotel. We like it because it is close to the theaters. The staff was courteous and gave good directions to get to restaurants and Theater. Also the hotel was interesting because it was one of few that wasn't "glitsy". It was nice to see it was owned by the same family that started it.
Rooms had character without feeling dated. Very comfortable bed. Staff was courteous and restaurant is outstanding.
No convenience store.
The exercise facility is so small that it is almost pointless. The showers need updating, as do other amenities like the television.
Close to some of the best venues in the city.
Location, history, staff, convenience, great dining, great price, lovely experience for great weekend = breakfast included~~
Bath tubs need updating
Room was spacious, staff very friendly. Very convenient to concert hall and opera house. But be warned: downtown Houston in this area is pretty dead on Saturday afternoon and night!
Only one complaint - a charge for bottled water that was not used by us. There is also an $8.50 charge for other things, including breakfast even if you do not use it. It took two e mails and a phone call to clear up the $2.50 but credit was given. But overall the room was a bargain, thanks to a special that appeared on Booked.net.
The staff was very pleasant, the room lovely, spacious and the bed and bath comfortable and there were useful items therein.
Attendance to almost all the issues. Descent style
Ther open buffet was not adequatly providing foods to vegetarns and/or moslems
Good location. The hotel is a historic one with very nice facilties. Convenient bus service for convention center.
Fewer restaurant near the hotel.
Quaint, intimate, quiet, service friendly and competent.
Minor details - had a chest of drawers w/broken drawer and missing drawer. Breakfast buffet process was a bit confusing. Valet parking was not always manned.
Excellent value and not a big box standard hotel
The atmosphere and the friendly staff made this stay very awesome. I enjoyed the age of the Lancaster, at 87 years old it is still owned by the same family. I would reccommend this hotel to everyone.
We enjoy old hotels. This has alot of history. The Bistro is excellent. It is in the heart of fine arts district. Very good price point. However, would be my choice, if I was in a hurry (business). Perfect for a leisure weekend, downtown.
Position of hotel was convenient. The age of the hotel gave it good character. Excellent Bistro for evening meals and breakfast
Bathroom fitments require attention/replacing, some areas a little tired
beds were very comfortable
need makeup mirrors for women. i only stayed one night so not a big problem. Room seems male driven
